Denys Finch Hatton was born in England on April 24, 1887. As the second son of an early, he grew up in privileged conditions. After completing his training at Eton College, he visited the brone -free college in Oxford, where he graduated in 1910.

Adventure in Africa - In 1911 Finch Hatton traveled to British East Africa, today's Kenia, and was immediately from the Beauty and wildness of the country fascinated. He decided to stay there and quickly made a name for himself as a safari guide. His services were used by many prominent and wealthy tourists, including Edward, Prince of Wales, later King Edward VIII.

Denys Finch Hatton learned the author Karen Blixen know in Kenya. Blixen operated a coffee plantation at the foot of the NGONG mountains. They began an intensive and passionate relationship that lasted until his death in 1931 and in their world -famous book "Beyond Africa" plays a central role. The story was later successfully filmed and came to cinemas worldwide in 1985.

From the story to the brand As a descendant of a cloth maker family, Roger Brandts has been practically plucking the love fascination for fabrics. The name is quickly found: Fynch-Hatton, as a tribute to those Denys Finch Hatton, who impressed his independence, his thirst for adventure and his love of freedom. The business plan is quick, but now it is time to convince buyers and suppliers. Not an easy matter: the competition is large and not everyone shares Brandts' vision.

But like Deny's Finch Hatton, Roger Brandts, with the help of his initially small team, remains persistent and cannot be dissuaded from his way.

The fashion label is slowly but steadily establishing itself internationally. And with the range of products, the Fynch Hatton team, which has made a success out of Roger Brandt's idea: the unmistakable fashion brand with the Umbrella as a logo, the typical tree of the African savannah. In the meantime, Fynch-Hatton is around 2,300 points of sale and 55 countries Represented, not least because of the iconic image productions in South Africa in 2015 and 2018.
